Frequently Asked Questions

What are the steps for starting therapy?

The first step is to contact me through the contact forms on my website or directly through email/phone. Then we’ll schedule an intro call to get to know each other - this is a chance for both of us to ask questions to help understand whether we’d be a good fit. If we determine that we’re a good fit, we schedule an initial appointment, and then I email you with new client paperwork and details for our first session.

What is the time commitment for therapy?

You can expect to attend therapy once a week for at least 6 weeks at the onset of treatment. I reserve a recurring appointment time for you on my schedule. Appointments are 45 minutes for individual therapy or 60 minutes for couples therapy.

How does payment work?

You can pay prior to or at the end of our appointment. I take credit card, cash, check, or direct deposit through a third party application. Failure of payment will result in termination of services.

What is a sliding scale and how do I know if I qualify?

A sliding scale is a type of fee structure that allows people with fewer resources the ability to afford treatment at a lower fee. Depending on your financial situation, you may qualify for lower rates for treatment. This can be discussed over a phone call.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require 48-hours notice to cancel appointments without financial repercussion, otherwise you will be charged a full session fee for missed or a late-canceled appointments. If I have availability, I can offer same week reschedules.
