About Me

I’m here because I am - and always have been - a helper. For a long time, I was the person putting other people’s needs before my own because it was important for me that other people felt safe and happy. Through my own therapy, I learned about boundaries (thank goodness) and the field of psychotherapy where I could make caring about others my career.

The technical stuff is this: I’m a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Private Practice (LMFT 131976) in Los Angeles, CA. This means I am trained and qualified to diagnose and treat mental health disorders in individuals, couples, and families. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Washington and my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy from Pepperdine University.

More importantly, I’m human. And I believe that there is nothing more powerful or fulfilling than creating trusting and transformative relationships. Through connection, people heal. Through connection, people change and grow. This is my purpose - connecting with you and helping you live the life you are meant to live.

Currently in private practice, my clinical focus includes (but is not limited to) anxiety/depression, trauma, and toxic relationship recovery.

Are we a good fit?

There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that’s your own self.

Some things you might find helpful when considering working with me:

  • I enjoy meeting new people, building meaningful relationships, & helping others, which is why I chose this as a profession. Also, nothing makes me happier than palm trees, sunshine, and innumerable brunch spots.

  • I believe in equality for all.

  • I believe in social justice.

  • I believe in climate change.

  • I am Indian-American & in an interracial relationship. I use a culturally considerate approach in my work with clients because I believe that things like your race, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, and socioeconomic status all impact your experiences in unique & important ways.

  • I’m a mom.

  • I started going to therapy when I was 15 years old.

  • I have gone to a psychiatrist. I believe medication can be enormously helpful to ease suffering. I also honor every client’s opinion towards medication as a treatment option - I never push medication on anyone because it is your body and your decision.

  • While pursuing my Master’s degree, I completed my clinical training in Psychosocial Oncology at The Cancer Support Community & with Neurodegenerative Disorders at OPICA Adult Day Service Center. My first role as a post-grad therapist was at THIRA Health where I worked as an Intake Therapist conducting psychosocial assessments & milieu therapy with women & teens diagnosed with Mood Disorders.
